Take a look at the Taste New Zealand Chef of the Year competition which was held throughout 2017. In total, 30 Chefs competed across the four heats with James Knight-Pacheco being crowned the winner at The Pro Chef Middle East Awards this November.
James Knight-Pacheco is new chef de Cuisine at the luxury Six Senses Zighy Bay. James will be responsible for the new culinary experience at Sense on the Edge, the restaurants fine dining mountain – top restaurant.

James reached the finals of BBC2’s ‘The Restaurant’ in 2008. He has worked with some kitchen greats, including Raymond Blanc and Gordon Ramsey. He can currently be seen in BBC2’s ‘Out of the Frying Pan’.
The Ultimate Culinary Collection will be launched early in 2019. The book will feature 100 recipes by 100 executive chefs from 100 of the world's finest hotels. ALL proceeds from sales of the books will be used to fund the vaccination of underprivileged babies against Rotavirus.
James Knight-Pacheco is chef de cuisine of Sense on the Edge, a fine dining restaurant located on the mountainside within the Six Senses Zighy Bay resort in Oman. He tells Janet Harmer of his delight at the outlet being named the Best Restaurant in the 2012 Middle East Hotel Awards.

We were only there to watch. It's standard procedure in an observational series, but a little less easy to pull off when your lens is trained on two rookie caterers who've just been told they must deliver a three-course banquet to nearly 300 newly commissioned officers.
